We have a pretty competitive grouping of FWD racers here in Meridian, Idaho (just outside of Boise). Our 1/4 mile, slightly banked oval is home to several FWD classes, and feature a ton of great races and racers.
On the budget side, we have Hornets, as well as Jr. Stingers (11-14 year olds), and High School Tuners (14-18). All the same rules. Basic builds following the "cars that we race" mindset.
Though, it looks like there might be some sort of rules changes coming, allowing them to run more Hoosier race tires.
Also, our Bombers division have allowed 4 Cylinder and 6 Cylinder cars to run with them. It's kinda cool to see a Ford Escort ZX2, Pontiac Bonneville, a Kia minivan, and a 1970's Thunderbird all battle for wins.
We also mix our Mini Stocks (mostly Mustangs) with our FWD cars. I've ran Civic's and Integra's for several years out there. In 2018, we had about a 50/50 split of RWD vs FWD cars, and the win's were fairly split, too. Honda's are fast. The Neon's are getting damn quick, and it looks like there will be a Sentra joining us next year, too.
